AKAI MPC samplers have been used for years and have become the standard in Hip Hop and Electronica based music production. Even with the advancement of software samplers the AKAI MPC has proven to stand the test of time. Inheriting all the essential features which make the MPC series so iconic, the MPC1000 is not only a perfect complement to its larger MPC siblings, but a powerful Music Production Center in its own right. The MPC1000 combines a 64–Track MIDI Sequencer and a 32–voice Stereo Digital Sampler, with 16 velocity and pressure sensitive rubber pads.

The MPC1000 is amazingly portable. It takes up little space in the studio and is perfect for the traveling producer. The large 240 X 64 pixel LCD display allows for accurate editing of wav samples and drum programming. For outputs there are the main stereo outputs and two additional stereo outs as well as a S/PDIF digital out. The unit has dual midi ports and a variety of effects including: Chorus, Flanger, Bit Grunger, 4-Band EQ (parametric), Compressor, Phase Shifter, Reverb, Flying Pan and Tremolo. Q-Link sliders have been included which provide real-time control of a variety of parameters: Attack, Decay, Layer (velocity layer), Tune and Filter.

Both PC and Mac computers can communicate with the MPC1000 via its built–in USB port. To transfer data simply drag & drop between the computer and the MPC1000's Compact Flash card. The unit can also be upgraded with expansions. An internal hard drive can be added for convenient and easy access to samples and programs. Note: To install an internal hard drive the HDM-10 hard drive mounting kit is necessary. The EXM128 memory expansion can be added for increased sampling time.

Portable, durable and dependable the MPC1000 is a great choice for producers who want that classic MPC sound and feel in a compact package. It is no wonder why today's top producers use AKAI MPC sampling drum machines to create killer Hip Hop loops and grooves. Programming beats with the MPC1000 is a pleasure. Tap the tempo, hit start and bang those pads.
