Please be very careful when bidding on an atv. We were looking at a Polaris this week that turned out to be a scam.  Fortunately, there were a number of red flags that stopped us from going through with it.

First, seller was new to ebay. Location was listed as "polaris" canada. Low BIN price, with free shipping was added after initial listing. Seller seems to like the figure of $2700US in each of his scams....yes, there were more. When contacted the seller had a good story. Asked seller to use escrow for payment and he refused. Reported all this to ebay who told me this was a fraud attempt. I then received a similar letter someone else has mentioned in their guide at my private email address, that was supposedly from ebay stating that they investigated the seller, everything was okay and I could go ahead with the sale sending the funds via Western Union.

Whoa! Big red flag!!

Long story short...did not buy atv. Then as I was looking at the listings I discovered the same seller had used four different id's , all very similiar, used different locations such as Polaris Canada, Rincon Canada etc...no actual city name. The descriptions were all very similiar was well, not much imagination in creating new wording. All of these were reported to ebay and I do not see this listing at this point, but I am sure that this guy will try again. User id usually starts with al....

When they say buyer beware...they mean it!!!!
