AVOIDING SNIPERS!

Last minute bidders who try to steal an item away at the lowest possible price, or "Snipers" as they are sometimes referred to can be a very frustrating problem to some eBay users.

I have found a very simple way to avoid getting caught by a sniper... Let eBay bid incrementally for you!!

When bidding, bid the highest amount you would possibly pay for the item.  For example:  I see a beautiful Lamp being offered and there are no bids.  In this scenario, the minimum bid to open the bidding is .99 cents....  Instead of opening up with a bid of  .99 cents, I will ask myself what is the highest amount I would possibly pay before giving up on this item?  Let's say it's $100...

So as the scenario goes, I bid $100 on the item and become the high bidder... The Item will now show 1 Bid of .99 cents... (Or whatever the minimum opening bid amount was)  If the auction were to end right now I would get that item for .99 cents.

Let's say another person comes along and bids $5.00.  That person will then be informed that they have immediately been outbid by another bidder, and I will still have the high bidder status... eBay will automatically raise the bid for me to just over the last bidder's amount...  In this case it will be .99 cents, bringing my current high bid to $5.99.

This will go on until the auction ends, or until someone outbids my maximum amount of $100...

I call this the "Fire and Forget Method"

Why wait nervously in front of the computer screen to see if you have been outbid in the last 2 minutes?

By my simple method, any sniper would have to be willing to pay more than you would have anyway...

Good Luck and Happy eBaying!
