When bidding on eBay, there are a few strategies to use:
Always enter the maximum you are willing to pay at the moment you are bidding. Failing to do so could cost you the item at the end of the auction if you forget about it, get caught up doing something else, or you are going to be away from the computer at the auction end.
Check back frequently to see where you stand. Even if you are outbid, the highest bidder could remove their bid, and then you will be left with the responsibility to pay for the item if you win it.
I never encourage last minute bidding, in case something goes wrong with your computer and you cannot get your bid in on time. It seems like a good strategy, but most other bidders use the maximum bid method.
Following these strategies may help you, but remember, there will always be someone out there willing to pay more for the item you are bidding on. Never pay more than you are comfortable spending. It will only make you feel bad about the item in the end!
