)Birkenstocks for the most part come in two widths, regular and narrow. Regular is designated in the inside sole of the shoe by the outline of a footprint and narrow by a solid or filled in footprint.
Most sellers here on eBay have only the narrow widths. This is because Birkenstock narrow rarely gets sold out in the Birkenstock stores or other licensed selling venues. Since there are few people that wear the narrow they are always the widths left when the regular width sells out. The sellers on eBay who carry mostly or only the narrow widths do so because Birkenstick sells to them when the regular width sells out and due to this the sellers here on eBay get the narrow widths for a very low price.
Most sellers on eBay want you to believe that the narrow width corresponds with the medium "B" width of American shoes. This is not true, the width of the narrow Birkenstock is for AAA -A widths. The regular width is the size that corresponds to the American width B- D.
If you have worn your Birkenstocks for long enough to break them in and they are still NOT the most comfortable shoe you have ever worn-so much that you would rather wear them than go barefoot, wear flip-flops, or even wear your regular sports shoe then you probably have the wrong width Birkenstock.
A Birkenstock is made so that your foot can spread out and be it's normal size and shape. A narrow Birkenstock doesn't allow for most feet to do this. A Birkenstock is made to let your foot be as natural as possible while still providing the most excellent support.
So if your Birkenstocks are not the most comfortable shoe please check your width. Better yet find a Birkenstock store and let them find your correct size. All licensed Birkenstocks stores provide training to their people so they can fit you correctly. Once you have your correct size then come back to eBay and find your pair.
