Consider this: You just paid for a 12 dollar item that is shipping from the U.S.A. You just got a great deal. You're happy and it saved you about 15 dollars. Ebay is great isn't it? Until you have a Shipping problem.
Well, like it or not Buyers, Sellers, and all Ebay participants, the #1 problem Buyers have when purchasing off of Ebay is Shipping. Confusion of the method of shipping, when the item will be shipped, how much is shipping, and potential duties, taxes, and brokerage fees. Buyers must always get this critical information before purchasing/bidding, and Sellers must make sure all this information is readily available in the auction description. For Canadian buyers purchasing from the U.S.A, it is doubly important, since all duties, taxes, and fees are much more expensive here. U.S.A sellers MUST post clear shipping information to avoid disatisfied customers in Canada...because a good seller/business SHOULD.
Notes to ponder for Buyers in Canada (Sellers in the U.S.A. take note)
- I would avoid all Sellers who ship via UPS (and even FedEx). Brokerage fees are astronimcal. On a $12.00 item, I paid 22 bucks!!!!
- Be faithful to Sellers who post how they are shipping.
- USPS is the #1 way to receive a product.
- When does the Seller ship? If only once a week, and you need it quicker, move on. Sellers should post when they will ship the product...within 24hrs of payment is certainly reasonable.
- BEWARE: Sellers who post a low, low Selling price, but gauge you on brutal shipping fees!
If buyers become faithful to sellers who are upfront, honest, and clear on their shipping, Ebay will be a better place.
Happy bidding and Merry Christmas!
