Microscope slides are a wonderful idea for scrapbook pages as they are very thin and now finally come in unbreakable vinyl/plastic. To decorate them just cut a picture or stamped piece of paper in the size of the slide, use spray adhesive to cover the fron tof the picture and adhere to the microscope slide with the plastic covering the front of the picture.
Now finish the edges with metal tape which comes in different widths. I prefer to use 1/4" Venture Copper Tape - MasterFoil Plus which was made for stained glass projects and can be found in Home Depot stores or crafting aisles. However, soldering works great also.
If you want to further embellish your microscope slides you also can punch holes in them or cut them with regular scissors as they are thin enough and won't get damaged.
If you want to use a microscope slide just without a picture, these also work great when stamped on, perfect with STAZ-ON ink which dries pretty quick and are a great use for stamping on words or even titles.
For jewelry just use 2 slides for back and front to protect your picture. Use the slides to make charm bracelets, necklace pendants, or I even have seen them used as Christmas ornaments.
