No offense meant. I was once a dummy too. The reason that I am writing this guide is to help other ebayers understand the importance of delivery confirmation as a seller. Suppose you sell an item to Joe Blow. Mr. Blow promptly pays for his order. You promptly ship his order. It sounds like a good transaction just happened, doesn't it? Well here is the reason you want to use Delivery Confirmation on EVERYTHING you ship. Joe emails you a week or so later to tell you he hasn't gotten his order from you when IN FACT he has. He is telling you a BIG FAT LIE! He knows when he received the package that there was no Delivery Confirmation on the package. And he is getting ready to use it against you in a Paypal dispute. He is going to win too. Here is the skinny. Joe makes a claim with Paypal. Paypal asks you for proof of Delivery Confirmation. And you only have the receipt that says YOU MAILED IT. Delivery Confirmation proves the package was IN FACT delivered. So without Delivery Confirmation, you are automatically screwed. You have to forfeit the product you already mailed AND just to add insult to injury, you have to refund his ENTIRE FUNDS or Paypal will kindly do it for you with the debit/credit card associated to your Paypal account.
SAVE YOUR RECEIPT!!! That little piece of paper is worth ALOT of money in the event you just got duped. Or are about to be duped. Your receipt from the Post Office does indeed have the delivery confirmation # in association with the destination the package was sent printed on the receipt. This will save you booty.
WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS? For FREE goodies! That's why! Nothing better than buying something. Getting it in the mail. And then SCREW the seller out of his money to line your pockets and have the best of both worlds. And to add insult to injury, they are selling YOUR STUFF on another seller ID and pocketing that money too. And you can bet they are shipping it with delivery confirmation.
People aren't done trying there luck. I have had upon occasion some ding-a-ling like Joe try me on for size JUST to see if I kept the receipt. I wondered how stupid he felt when I went to USPS.com and told him he already got his package.
People. Be safe. Be smart. Don't let Joe Blow screw you over. These cases are quite rare. But it always sucks to be a sucker. So BUY THAT DELIVERY CONFIRMATION!! Include it in you shipping price. It is just that simple. I hope my guide is worthy of a yes vote before you leave. Please se my other reviews and guides. Thank you, Mike.
