I had been thinking about getting an electric scooter for a couple of years now. Did my research on different models, watts and chain vs belt drive. Now that I have found the one I am getting I figured I would try to help others save some time.

Several friends had belt drive scooters and all said they would avoid it upon looking back. They slip, stretch and break far to easy. Anything under 200 watts is not enough for an adult if there is a hill bigger than a speed bump.

The scariest part I found was typing the words recall and scooters into a search engine. Specificaly the model Razor on consumeraffairs.com . The fact that there are so many for sale here on eBay and none of the sellers seem to mention that fact or if it was recalled and fixed. I found several reviews about them with not many good points by anyone over 15 years old. While comparing prices on Amazon I read the reviews on a couple different Razor models. There were so many problems reported that were not part of the recall.

I am not saying that this company is bad, they are admitting to the problems and there are other ones to watch, but, some the people you buy things from may not be so willing to share certain details you should know.

So my best advice to all those thinking about buying anything is know what you want, what you need and research, research, research.
