Fake Raybans vs Real Raybans on eBay : eBay Guides

A couple of weeks ago, I bought myself some new Ray-Ban 3025 Aviators.  They were 100% real. Long story short, I lost them only after 1 day of owning them (oops). I contacted the user I bought it from and they told me it will be another 2-3 weeks until they had them in stock. Me, not being patient, I ordered the same glasses from another user for about 40% cheaper than the price I paid for the first glasses.

When I got my "new" glasses, I realised it was very fishy. They were fake.


Here are some things that I noticed with the fake ones compared to the real ones:

#1. The sunglasses have gold writing on the top bridge with the following "B&L RAY-BAN ITALY". The real one did not have this.

#2. The sunglasses do not have anything etched into the lens. The real ones had R-B (from what I remember etched into the lens).

#3. The Sunglasses also seem to be much smaller fitting than the originals.

#4. The real Ray-Bans had a rubbery type of material on the part that rests on your ear.
      The fake ones use plastic, which is very uncomfortable

I also noticed some differences with the box and the accessories the sunglasses came with :

#1. The box for the real Ray-Bans have a recycle symbol on it. The box is also much bigger and is a dull silver colour. - The fake one is slimmer, does not have a recycle symbol on it, and the box is glossy.

#2. Both the fake and real Ray-Bans came with an information booklet. The real one is much more of a darker black than the one that came with the fake one.
           - The real booklet also has a small ® logo between the C and the A of Luxottica. The fake one doesn't.
                   - Also in the back of the booklet where it shows the recommended use, on the bottom of the page beside the "CE" logo you'll        see some writing. The fake booklet has "Printed in Italy by Grafiche Bronca" while the real one has "Printed in Italy"

#3. The cleaning cloth that comes with the fake Ray-Ban is much more stretchier. While the real one is not as stretchy and feels much more softer/smoother.

#4. My real aviators came with a small tag that was attached to the glasses, whereas the fake ones didn't.

    

#5. Finally the thing that gave it away at first sight was the case. The case for the real aviators is much smaller and higher quality. The inside was also black.
     - The fake Ray-Ban case has a red interior, and also has a plastic piece that fits in-between the nose piece of the glasses. The case is also   very bulky and cheap feeling.

Honestly the only thing I can recommend is buy something that isn't cheap.
I bought from a seller who had perfect feedback from thousands of customers. And in the end they were fake.
I was kind of expecting it as the glasses came to a total of $60 while the real ones came to a total of $100.
Make sure the seller allows returns/refunds, and dont buy something that has a price which is too good to be true.
