New - This term describes a phone that should have never been activated on a wireless plan or used in any way. This should mean that the phone comes in the original box and will appear to be brand new.
New (Other) - This term describes a phone that is generally an opened boxed item, liquidation stock model or certified carrier returned item. Once a phone is turned on or activated even the first time - it is no longer considered "Brand New". You can often times save a lot of money by buying phones in this condition. New (Other) refers to phones that may come in an opened box or that may have been returned to the store after a brief period of time (buyer decided they wanted a different model, decided they did not want to be tied to a 2 year contract, etc and returned phone within the 30 day return period). In some cases - our vendors and providers of these phones (generally for cosmetic reasons), a part such as a casing or battery cover may be replaced or reconditioned with OEM or high quality generic parts . We have personally inspected these phones and they will appear to be in New Cosmetic Condition. The description of the listing will indicate the cosmetic condition of the phone and it should be in Like New or even New cosmetic condition. These phones are often repackaged into either a plain white box or generic manufacturers box. A Verizon store for example - is not able to sell an opened box or store returned item and would label the phone as Like New or even sell the phone as Refurbished even though the phone itself was never touched internally. Phones sold as New(Other) on eBay generally do not carry a manufacturers warranty - however some phone companies will stand behind the product since in some cases - they are still within the warranty period. There is no way we can personally guarantee the manufacturers warranty with a phone in this condition.
Manufacturer Refurbished - This is a term that refers to a previously used phone that has been refurbished either by the manufacturer or by an authorized refurbisher. The phone should appear to be new and function like it is new. The parts internally or externally were most likely changed with brand new parts. Any phone purchased online however should include a warranty. Even Brand New phones sometimes have issues and you want to be assured in the unlikely event of an issue that you are covered.
Seller Refurbished - A lot of sellers online will sometimes replace various parts of a used phone to make it function or look nicer cosmetically. If parts of a phone were changed, the seller will generally list the phone as seller refurbished. Some examples of parts that may have been changed would include the LCD Screen, the outside housing of the phone, a keyboard, etc. These phones should be fully functional, but make sure the phone is backed by some sort of warranty. Any issues with the phone will almost always be recognized within 30 days of receiving the phone.
Used - A phone in used condition is just as stated. The phone will be previously used. The actual phone itself can range from Like New condition because the person who previously used the phone took very good care of it, or the phone can be in a more beat up condition. The seller should indicate the cosmetic condition of the phone in this condition. We rate our used phones from Like New condition to fair condition. Our "Good" condition phones are generally the best value since the phone will have some minor wear and tear. If you don't mind a few nicks and scratches - you can save a lot of money by buying a phone in Used condition. These phones should also all be fully functional and include some sort of warranty or guarantee from defects in the unlikely event something were to go wrong. Generally you should be confident if the seller has a good feedback rating and provides a 30 day warranty.
Warranty for your Device - Warranties vary greatly from seller to seller. A 30 day warranty for a device by default is in most cases standard on eBay. You want to be assured that when you purchase your device, that if something goes wrong - you are protected. Even used cell phones can cost upwards of several hundred dollars. We as a seller have also partnered with SquareTrade warranties. SquareTrade is a company that offers deeply discounted yet reliable extended warranties. You can extend a refurbished phones warranty up to 3 years and a used phones warranty up to 2 years.
