Ok, so you have an eBay store....Now what?!
I have an ebay store..I am overwhelmed...my heart starts to race...my head is spinning..what do I do?!
When you have finally had enough with the high auction fees & you have generated enough business to prove that you can consider yourself a "business person" with eBay, this is the best time to start an eBay store. BUT, only if you are ready to take some serious time with it! It isn't for the casual eBay seller...TRUST ME!!! I realized that after my first 20-30 auctions that I really wasn't making the profit that I had expected. There are the eBay fees & then also the PayPal fees that we all love to loathe!!! :) I realized that with each auction that the higher that you start your items, the higher the fees! This is what lured me into the store idea!
Yes..there is less exposure to your items, BUT I always try to have a variety of items on the auction so people will look at it & possible go to your store! This really does help! If you already have a store & aren't auctioning, check out your traffic report the week after you list 5-10 items on the auction! Mine DOUBLED & TRIPLED!! No, it isn't a guarantee that you will make a lot of money, but this really does help to drive more people your way!
Also, when you are spending the time & money with eBay, remember that if you take the time to put a picture on the gallery option - PUT A GOOD PICTURE OUT THERE! This drives me INSANE! I know that the item is a good item, but here is a picture that looks like it was taken with an old 35 mm camera in a cave! How about the "cell phone" pictures of the listings! AHHH!!! This is terrible! You need to think about it...when you go to a job interview & you are dressed terrible but you are a wonderful candidate you will NOT get the job! First impressions are everything! Especially on eBay-no one can see or test the merchandise that you are selling; they are taking your word & looking at your picture. If it looks bad, you can't sell it. Not even at $0.99!!!
Try combined shipping or FREE shipping! That is a great way to get people to look at your store &/or item! I usually try to have a sale or a percent off of a certain total!
If you are a first time ebayer, remember that you aren't alone out there! We all had to start new at one point! Don't stress if you don't have a cool logo or a new design on your listing...It doesn't matter. Your products are the first thing that people look at.....then the price.....then they also see your feedback. If everyone tries to aim for the best customer service possible & are doing everything in their power to make it right & pleasant, everyone wins!
So, good luck & try out this freebie!!! It works for a lot of ebay sellers.....but they don't want you to know this information! Hey.....maybe I shouldn't have told you MY information! Ha ha! Just kidding! I work for a company that is widely known for it's hunting, fishing & outdoor gear - their customer service is something to take a good look at! I have learned a lot by working in many different companies customer service departments & anything that I can do to help someone out is my pleasure!
