Pond building in your backyard can be daunting. And expensive too. Here is my how-to guide to building a cheap pond. And it is easy, also.
First you need to locate where you will put this pond. Preferably not under a tree, but it should have shade for at least half the day.
Then you buy your supplies - 1 round kiddy pool of the size you want the pond, a recirculating pump and about 12 feet of clear tubing that fits the pump you just purchased.
Now place the pool and mark the grass where you will dig. It should be 2 inches less that the lip. Dig out the soil to the depth of the pool, drop it in and make sure it is level.
Spray paint the pool black.Let dry 24 hours. Get some flat rocks to put around the edge, install the pump and run the tubing under the rocks. Get a large flat rock and a few regular ones. Place the tubing through the rocks, letting the water flow over the flat rock.
Get some water plants and a few goldfish, and voila !!
A backyard pool to enjoy for years and years for less than 100 bucks.
