How to enter unlock code into KU990 Viewty : eBay Guides

As with most LG's, you will need 2 things to unlock this phone.
1) ORIGINAL sim card - ie if the phone is locked to Vodafone UK, you will need a Vodafone UK sim card. It does not need to have an active line, and most of the time it will come in the box with a new phone, but be sure to ask your seller for a sim card. Also, Vodafone UK is different the Vodafone Spain, or any other Vodafone SIM so be sure that it is the same as the original provider.
2) A NCK or Network Control Key - a 16 digit unlock code, which can be purchased from my ebay store. This code is unique to each phone, and must be looked up against a master database of unlock codes from either the network provider (in our example above Vodafone UK) or the manufacturer (LG International database lists the unlock codes for any LG locked to any network worldwide).

Once these are in your possession, you can continue on with these steps:


1. Insert original sim card into the phone and turn the phone on.
2. Press the telephone icon at bottom of screen to bring up the phone keypad.
3. Dial 2945#*990#
4. A menu will pop up, select sim unlock
5. Enter your unlock code (NCK) and press ok.
6. The phone will then reboot and the unlock is complete.

Your Viewty is now ready to be used with any GSM network worldwide. The NCK only needs to be entered once, and the phone is permanently unlocked. No software modification or upgrade will ever relock your handset.
