After you have had your PC for a long period of time you start to notice that after time your computer takes longer and longer to boot, or load Windows. There is an easy way to make your computer start up faster so that you are not in front of your computer monitor pulling out your own hair waiting for Windows to load.
The first thing that you can do is:
Click Start->All Programs->Startup (It should be just below accessories, or 4 or 5 down)
-When you mouse-over ‘Start-up’ you will see a list of programs that run as soon as you start windows. If there is a lot you should consider deleting some, or you can delete all the ones you don’t use often, and just run those programs as you need them, not when you start Windows.
Also you can try this:
Click Start->Run In the window that appears type ‘msconfig’ without the quotes, and click OK.
-The window that will appear will be called System Configuration Utility. Click on the last tab (at the top) labeled Startup. You will then have a full list of all the programs that run when you start Windows. Deselect all the programs that you don’t want to start wit Windows and you will have to restart.
When Windows loads again, you may see a small or dramatic difference in the load time. If it still takes a long time to load Windows, consider getting a good anti-virus program, and do a full computer search. You could have some nasty viruses loading with Windows and slowing you down. Good Luck.
