Hello Everyone:
there have been a few sellers on ebay using the words "QUALITY" & "EXCLUSIVE" to some of the IHC locomotives they have been selling.
these locomotives are not exclusives, they are more or less custom ordered items from IHC.
IHC sells direct to the public, and you can order a locomotive with a certain road name, certain road number or what ever.
They can do it as long as the items and parts are in stock.
I custom ordered a few items for myself, and the prices are a little more than some hobbyshops because you are dealing direct with the manufacturer, if you purchased large quantities, you can get a deal.
but some sellers on ebay are taking advantage of this idea by charging way too much for a locomotive that doesn't have the high standards like a proto or mth.
a good example is the B&O passenger steamers, the seller on ebay was asking around $300.00 actual cost was around $100.00 direct from IHC for this locomotive.
these locomotives are not collectors items, they are run of the mill stuff.
this is not a flame fest, but it is getting old on how some people take advantage of others.
