I have seen many humidors on e-bay these days, I  have read some of the advice that others have posted on there reviews.

These reviews all let one know important feature's of a humidor, from the spanish cedar which enhances taste of your fine collection of cigars, but it also helps in the aging process of your cigars. Cigars are like most fine wines, when they are aged properly they just get better!

I have noticed myself the past few months of many humidors being sold on e-bay that claim to have spanish cedar.... Although just by looking at the wood inside of there photos I can tell that they are lined with cheap birch, or maple!  Spanish cedar has a red tinge to the wood.

Below is a humidor "A" that clearly in NOT lined with Spanish cedar.

A.

This humidor "B" is one of our's notice that color difference between the two on the inside drawers and inside of the door.

B.

The difference between the two humidors are drastic, as if you were to store your fine collection of cigars in humidor A. your cigars would be in the worst enviroment that they could be, you may as well put them in your freezer.

Another huge attribute to a humidor is a quality seal of the lid. This is as important as the Spanish cedar.

Why? Because if you store your cigars in a humidor with a poor seal you cigars will dry up and crack, not draw properly, etc.

A perfect seal maintains the proper humidity level inside the humidor to replicate the tropical paradise in which most exquisite cigars are grown and rolled.

How to test if your humidor has a perfect seal?

Easy when you lift the lid and drop it back down to close it, it should close with out a sound, as it should vacuum seal when closed. If you hear a sound of any kind of wood hitting each other this means your seal is poor.

As for the exterior of the humidor, this is totally up to your personal taste in furniture, after all a quality humidor will last for years given proper care.

When choosing your humidor take care in looking at the buyers feedback, and look at the photos of the humidor to ensure that they are what they say they are selling.

You can spend very little on e-bay for a fake humidor, Keep in mind what it will cost if you put your fine collection of cigars in a cheap humidor and they have to be tossed away because they went bad?

I hope this has enabled you to make a smart choice in choosing a quality humidor.

All the best.
