I've been recently trying to buy an FZ6 Yamaha. Two guys posted bikes but no VIN number listed. When you ask for the VIN they do not reply. This is because the bike does not exist, and they have no papers. Always ask for a scan of the vehicle registration before you part with your money. A legitimate seller will not have a problem with this.
If you ask for the guys phone number and he does not give it, walk away from the deal. You can do a reverse phone number look up to find his address.
Bogus Bidders: One of the bikes I looked at had 4 bids already. Only problem is they were all anonymous, and none of them had any feedback history. 0 previous transactions. It's obvious the crook has registered with 4 different ID's and is bidding up his own auction.
If the bike is going so cheap it's an unbelievable deal. It probably is!!!!
If you are going to buy a bike, phone the guy, have a chat, ask him for a work reference phone number, before you part with your cash. You can never be too careful.
