Have you ever purchased an item from an ebay seller who didn't take Paypal? I did. Twice. I have lived to regret it. Never again.

I ALWAYS pay promptly. With Paypal, this is possible. A few clicks and the item is not only paid for, it is on record in case there is a problem.

I purchased two items from sellers who did not accept Paypal. I was reluctant to buy from sellers who wanted payment by money order so I intended to be very careful as this was the first time I had done so. I purchased the money orders from the post office and sent both by ExpressPost with tracking with a 4-day guaranteed delivery which cost me $11 each. 4 days? It has been 3 weeks now and neither seller has received payment. It is fortunate that I have proof of payment but it looks like these are floating around the U.S. somewhere.

One seller is being very nice about it and is waiting pariently. The other? A nightmare! Harrassing. Spiteful. Malicious - and threatens to leave negative feedback because the item is unpaid. Of course it is, the money order is lost. Is that my fault? Does anyone have control over the mail once it goes?

Of course, one never realizes what type of person you are dealing with until something like this happens. As a first time money order sender, it was just my luck to buy from a person who either has a very low I.Q. or is just plain ignorant - or both!

It is a seller's own business as to why they choose not to accept Paypal but from a buyer's perspective, it is the only secure way to pay. One does not foresee that something like might happen. I certainly didn't. It is just as annoying for the buyer as it is for seller. The delay incurred mailing the payment. Waiting for confirmation that payment has been received and then having to wait for shipment. In this case, I have paid for two items and it looks like I will get nothing. I can claim from Canada Post of course. This will entail wading through a bunch of red tape.

A lesson learned on ebay! No Paypal. No Buy!
