)Ok, One of the most asked question is : Is the Generic nails and staples as good as the name brands? If you had asked me this question in 1985 the answer would have been simple, No! But it's 2012 now and the answer is now Yes! For the past 15 years Generic brands have made such strides that they now lead the fastener in quality. In alot of cases they manufacture all the nails and staples for name brands and they simply put the name brands name on the box then in the same factory they private lable their own staple or nails for that same item. With that being said, there is quality issues depending on where the item is made. Right now the best quality in my opionion is in Taiwan or Korea. China is now a new player in the mix. They are where Taiwan was 20 years ago but inproving in lightening speed so it depends who is doing the manufacturning the quality from China is fair to good. As for the recent ABC news story about buying US made nails. I really wish I can say that we have all the nails here but sadly right now the only items that you can buy here is framing nails with some specialty items but they are much higher in price sometimes twice the price. Hopfully this will change. I hope this helps.
