EBAY is an incredible community. From the buyers and sellers you meet to  the EBAY and PAYPAL employees, it is such an opportunity to meet and interact with so many nice people from all over.

The tutorials really help. And if things are still confusing, call them, and that goes for PayPal too. Awesome people.

In my EBAY journey as a semi-regular seller and buyer, the actual other EBAY journiers have been wonderful on the whole too. They've answered questions, offered advice and wise counsel and even comfort, when I have encountered the rare nasty person.

My biggest advice to a new EBAYER is to trust EBAY and follow their policies. Like many of us who use EBAY a good amount, we do, on rare occassions encounter, dishonest, fraudulant and rude people. Follow EBAY'S guidelines and rules, and they take very good care of you. They are few, but the scammers are out there.Do not let these people bully you. That is why it is so important to follow all of EBAY's and PAYPAL's guidelines. With them, you have recourse and protection. And the few times I've had problems with a seller/buyer, EBAY and PAYPAL have ALWAYS been there for me. And they do deal with these people. They do keep records and pay attention. And their response time is almost immediate! Also, only sell and buy using PayPal. It protects you and you buyer/seller.Any other method of payment on your part or a buyer, does not protect you or them. If a buyer tells you that they have good credit, etc. and want you to take a check, money order or whatever...don't. If their credit is so good then they can participate in PAYPAL.

When buying, pay promptly, it is courteous to do so. And honest. When you sell, mail within your stated time frame. Again, it is honest. And if there is an issue/problem, whether you are selling or buying, let the other party know.It saves an awful lot of grief  and time and effort on everyone's part.

Do not correspond with a buyer/seller except through EBAY. It protects you both.

Feedback is a good thing. And it is serious. My experiencs have been that if there is an issue, do not do Feedback until the buyer/seller has had time to respond to your inquiries. And to be honest, I do not leave bad Feedback. If it can't be all good across the board I just don't leave it. And if it is that bad, EBAY is already involved and they deal with it.

I hope my sharing of my experiences have helped at least a little bit. Again, my most important thought, trust EBAY and PAYPAL.Follow the guidelines/rules and they will serve you well.
