Be very knowledgable and cautious about bidding and buying a replacement for you existing Bell Mobility contract. There are basically two technologies used in cell phones - GSM and CDMA; Bell Mobility is CDMA; GSM phones can be unlocked and lots of them are advertised as unlocked - no matter - these phones cannot be used with Bell Mobility; CDMA phones cannot be readily unlocked , nor are they usually - special software is required to unlock them - no matter - only a Bell Mobility CDMA phone can be used with Bell Mobility. I have looked at hundreds of cell phone ads on EBay, and there are some fabulous deals; however, if you buy the wrong phone it will not work for you and there is nothing you can do to correct it or make it work. Many GSM phones are advertised as unlocked and OK for use on Bell Mobility - they will not work on Bell Mobility. Many CDMA phones are advertised as being unlocked - be cautious. As far as I can see , the only sure-fire way to get a phone to work on Bell Mobility is by buying a phone that is clearly marked Bell Mobility and is CDMA.

Further to this subject of Bell Mobility phones: all of the previous information still applies; however, there are Bell Mobility phones that are available with dual technology - that is basically, CDMA and GSM all in the same phone (you need a SIM card to use GSM - this is a gadget with your personal info on it that is transferable to another phone); as I said before - only buy a Bell phone if you are using or intend to use the Bell network.

Another little hint: when buying a cell phone, get the ESN number off the phone from your seller and check with your service provider as to whether or not you will be able to activate the phone.
