Being in Canada I can not tell you how irritating it is to look at listings on eBay, so few of them show shipping costs to Canada when it is SO incredibly easy for US sellers to do so. USPS does an amazing job for Americans at great rates. Canada Post can't even begin to compare to their "letter post" service which is the topic of my disscussion today.

As a seller the importance of posting shipping costs should never be overlooked. If you post them within your listing is great, if you post them as an option in eBay's shipping options even better. Why? Because then your shipping amount will show up in My eBay and when buyers compare your products to another seller yours will stand out because you have a clear shipping amount. Not to mention cutting down on work for you answering questions about shipping.

USPS Letter Post Overview

In the US you can send a small package (max combined l+w+h=36")  weighing up to 4 lbs for $12.50 or less depending on weight AIR mail. That means 3-5 business days to Canada. Bonus here, it is a flat rate chart. No postal codes or package sizes needed. So long as your box/envelope is under the dimensions specified above just look up the weight & there is your rate.

Here is a chart.

What could be easier than that? Buyers love cheap shipping & by providing them with the lowest rates possible you allow them to bid more on your item. For a full list of conditions & rates to Canada visit pe.usps.gov/text/imm/immicl/immiclcd_003
