There is great info out there on fake golf clubs.......Here is my contribution against fake Callaway X-20 irons.

Many may not know that even the fakes from China are also coming out with fake serial numbers on the hosel.  The only way to veify is to phone Callaway and verify if the number is authentic or not. One set i received, was from a hijacked site, were of really poor quality but did have the serial number on the hosel.  The logo colour of the "X-20" on the irons were slightly purpleish, The tin plate glue to the back of the iron was really poorly attached and looked cheaply made.  Also, these were being shipped directly from China, even though the seller was from the U.S.A, being delivered by E.M.S........Paypal refunded my monies.

Another set I bought were of better quality (still fakes) also had the serial number on it. These were really WELL MADE FAKES, I was surprised.  A local Golf Store manager identified them as fake, although he really had to take a good long look at them before he determined them to be fake.  Again, the X-20 logo on the irons were slightly off colour.  Some ebay websites also use stock photo's from other sites.  Not that there is anything wrong with that however I think most people like to see photos of the actual product being sold and not a generic stock photo....  If the sellers use photo's they took of the product, you will want to try to see the bottom of the hosel of the iron.  If you received your purchase, you will want to inspect the bottom of the irons.  Callaway uses a trademarked technique in attaching the head to the shaft, and at the bottom of the club, you should be able to see a hex design where the shaft is attached to the hosel.....even more prominent on the steel shafts, but clearly visible on graphite shafts.

One tell tale method of spotting a fake Callaway x-20 set is they will not have this design in their irons......if you do not see this hex design at the bottom of the irons where the shaft is attached to the head....they are fakes.

We have all read or heard that Callaway does not allow any of its' AUTHORIZED dealers to sell NEW products on Ebay, so asking the seller questions and being cautious may prevent being scammed.

Not to scare you off of buying on Ebay..............I have bought other Callaway Drivers, Ping and other well known manufacturer golf products on Ebay for good prices, and those products I have bought were authentic.  I try to buy good used equipment that others have bought from their from a local pro shop or golf store, chances of that being a fake are slim.

A site to get good prices on AUTHENTIC Callaway products is the Callaway preowned site.  I have gotten great deals on "new" items even though they were listed as "like new", and no worries as i know they are authentic.

Hope this is helpful.
