What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) means Universal Life Force Energy. It is a form of energy balancing, the gentle healing art of laying hands.
Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki in Japan, in the late 1800's. It is for this reason that Reiki is also referred to as "The Usui System for Natural Healing."
Reiki can be used to help any living thing. One can practice Reiki on others or themselves, animals, and even plants.
Reiki has the ability to aid in pain relief, relaxation, and recovery from illness. It can reduce stress, assist in healing (on a mental, physical, or spiritual level), enhance both medical and complimentary therapy treatments, boost one's energy, and much more!
Why Reiki Jewelry?
Gemstones and the metals we use to bind them together have been in the earth for thousands, if not millions of years. They are bound to have absorbed some energy along the way. Some would argue that they are, in essence, energy in one of the purest forms. Whatever your belief, it is easy to assume that Reiki could help to cleanse that energy, and help new and positive energies to flow through the stone, mineral, and/or metal, that makes up your jewelry.
I personally believe very strongly in this, and therefore I Reiki all the jewelry I make. When you buy a peice of jewelry from me, I want to do everything in my power to make sure it is a positive experience (at every level) for both you and I.
Rachel's Reiki Experience
I experienced the great pleasure of becoming a Reiki Master/Teacher of Traditional Japanese Reiki in May of 1996. I recieved my training at The Reiki Training Centre of Canada. Since then, I have had a number of valuable experiences with Reiki and my love for it continues to grow. I have practiced Reiki, taught Reiki, and experienced Reiki countless times myself. Reiki has simply become a way of life for me.
I believe Reiki to be the knowledge of giving direction and focus to the Universal Life Force Energy, which flows through everything living. Energy is pure, untainted, if your focus is clear and precise, it will do whatever you ask it to. We are all connected into this energy, it is our link to each other (people, animals, plants, and earth) but perhaps most importantly it is our link to ourselves. It is the ability to understand our world as we live in it at this precise moment in time, and also how we will choose to live in it tomorrow. It is through this energy that we can imagine or will into reality our thoughts, our focus, and our words.
