What is an InfoLihium Battery ?

InfoLithium is a lithium-ion battery pack which can exchange data such as battery consumption with compatible video equipment.

With Sony's InfoLithium® rechargeable batteries, you can see the remaining battery life displayed in minutes in the corner of your viewfinder or color LCD screen.
  • A camcorder that uses "InfoLithium®" battery packs will only operate with them and not regular NiCad packs.
  • "InfoLithium®" battery packs usually charge within 1-2 hours.
  • "InfoLithium®" packs can be charged and recharged many times without lose of power and without "memory" effects like older type rechargeable batteries.

What's the difference between InfoLithium® batteries and ordinary Nickel-Cadmium batteries?

Memory Effect
When you regularly recharge an ordinary NiCad battery before it's completely empty, it eventually "memorizes" this and becomes a shorter life battery. But unlike ordinary NiCad batteries, InfoLithium batteries have no "memory" effect.

Using Sony's exclusive InfoLithium batteries (NP-F750/950), a short 20 minute charge with '99 Handycam® Camcorders yields 1 hour recording!

Power Management
InfoLithium batteries also power the AccuPower™ Battery Meter: a highly-sophisticated power-management feature that constantly monitors shooting conditions. It displays the amount of remaining battery time in the corner of your viewfinder or color LCD screen.

So now you always know exactly how much recording time you've got.

The advantages of InfoLithium batteries:

    * They store more than TWICE the power of ordinary NiCads in the same space/size.
    * You NEVER have to worry about when and how to recharge them.
    * You can recharge them at ANY time without reducing battery life.
    * You can see how much recording time you have remaining displayed in minutes in the corner of your viewfinder or color LCD screen.
