After purchasing cobalt river cymbals I am quite pleased. I am not quite sure if they are up to par with sabian professional cymbals, but certainley follow close behind. The 12'' splash cymbal probably speaks for the rest of their cymbals like the larger crashes, and is quite bright and projecting especially for a 12''. The only gripe I had is for their little 8" splash. It sonds excellent until the finish, it has a nasty little bite on the end note which could be described as a sharp annoying buzz, but it is not that noticeable when your crashing it with the rest of the cymbals. If you were to use it by itself as an accent cymbal the ringy resonance on the end would be noticed quite quickly. Over all I think the cobalt river crashes and splashes would be a good investement for the beginning musician, or the professional musician that is not willing to sacrifice sound, but would like a bargain. great value for the bucks.
