I will keep this info short and sweet.. Many of you have read or heard of all the counterfeit coins plaguing the market.. This is not good for  collectors  and hobbists ....  How can you be sure of what you are buying? Some will tell you buy  Certified coins.. This does help for sure. But remember even the best can be fooled at times...... here's a few pointers to  help stay safe when buying ... # 1   You should have a digital scale..This will give you a coins exact weight which is crucial.. The older the coin ( wear and tear )  will have a slightly lower weight  than a new coin.. Within a couple tenths of a gram  is normal. But never a full  gram or more...
# 2  ... bad coins ( i will call them )  will usually have a rougher looking surface ie:  pitting,  numbers or letters that appear to be worn off ,  broken #'s or letters and often all of the above...
# 3   .. Coins coming out of  Asian countries, not all  or Europian countries.. Should be carefully looked at.
# 4... The old saying  .....If its too good to be true Then it probably is ..This applies to coins... If you see  rare coins being offered for  a fraction of the true  value ( buy It Now's )  Then its probably a fake..

Please remember .  If you are not sure , if you suspect the coin ...PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT...... Its safer to lose a deal , than to lose your money.................... Stay safe and Happy Collecting ....  Sid
